The community of Laporte, Colorado, is located in Larimer County, northwest of Fort Collins on the Cache La Poudre River, near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Laporte covers six square miles of land at an elevation of just over 5,000 feet, home to a small population of some 3,000 residents.
The town was settled by French-Canadian fur trappers as the first white settlement in the entire county, with cabins built as early as 1828. They came up with the name la porte, meaning “the door” in French. The settlement soon grew into a bustling business and supply center accommodating a constant flow of wagon trains and stagecoaches. For many years Laporte was the most important settlement north of Denver, housing a stage station and the county courthouse.

Although our facility has changed with the times, our quality and ideals of doing business are constantly growing.
